2017 audi q2 1.4 I got an error code P1701 after VCDS Check. It randomly appears as a "gearbox malfunction" message, which disappears after the restart. It usually happens with cold starts. I changed my battery, which was okay for two weeks but is returning. I believe I haven't changed my transmission or TCM. So it's weird why it happens to me. It happened after I accidentally washed my key in the washing machine; I don't know if that is the cause. I didn't feel anything wrong while driving.
